Well, it's a bit of a tricky question because the sound shifted over the years, but I'd say the core of The Buzz's playlist was really carved out by bands like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana in the early days, then later on, you had groups like Deftones, Tool, and even a little System of a Down. On the one hand, those grunge giants gave the station its initial identity, but on the other hand, the alternative metal acts kept it relevant through the late '90s and early 2000s. It was never a single artist, more of a collective vibe.
